Jasper Wildlife

Jasper National Park wildlife includes bears, coyote, wolves, cougars, elks, deer, sheep, moose, mountain goats, beavers, squirrels, chipmunks, and a variety of birds. Spotting wildlife takes a little luck and patience. The Jasper Lake area of Highway 16 has frequent wildlife sightings. Elk and deer are often spotted along Pyramid Lake Road, which joins Jasper village to Pyramid Lake and passes Patricia Lake. Keep a look-out for wildlife along Maligne Lake Road on the drive from Jasper village to Maligne Lake. Mountain goats can sometimes be seen at the Mountain Goat Lookout on the Icefields Parkway.
